Josh Lloyd farms near Longford, Kansas with his father, Gale. The five-generation family farm has used a continuous no-till system since 2000, and Josh manages the family’s cropland to mimic Mother Nature by using cash crops and cover crops to keep the soil covered year-round.
Cropping intensity and diversity also play a big role in his land management. His average rainfall is 31-inches per year. Josh was named the 2010 Conservationist of the Year in the American Soybean Association’s Conservation Legacy Awards Program.
